You can try to shave off some metal from the base of the sizing die(the part of the die that comes in contact with shell holder), in .005" incruments, till the desiered shoulder movement has being reached. Here is another way: you can use a large primer reamer to ream out the primer pocket to exept large rifle primer, on brass that has stretched pockets. Dont ask me how, yet, but i know for sure, that the 5.7 case is large enough to fit the large primer.

Sounds like the slide catch release lever may be bent. It could happen if you shoot wile wering thick gloves alot, but usualy that lever breakes away. Allso, if you have a Jarvis BBL, it may be a sign of spring housing starting to go south. Can you post some picktures of the gun disasembled?

Wow, thats odd, usualy vmax hardly need any crimp. What gun you use to shoot them? If it is one of the first batch ar57, than crimp isn't going to help you.
Just out of curiosity, isn't the bullet supouse to have canelure for roll crimp to be used effectively? Don't think that the vmax has it.

Re: Gel testing

Till sunday for those who'll be there at the sight, and most likely, till monday afternoone, before any pictures and vid's will be posted. It takes a wile to digest, trim, sort, convert, than post the material, in a presentable form. I'm sure we'll post some teasers first.

I am assuming only the accuracy has decreased, but the rifling still looks fresh?

It has a "bald ring" just pass the throat(not the taper on the lands, the lands are gone 1" past throat). Still plenty acurete, just not perfect.

We'll bring 3-4 camera's with us this time :D
Attention to detail will be at the top of the list, right next to safety. We'll also try to document the test from number of different points.

Re: 40 Round + Magazine Using Extensions

Lets try it Jay. I have a spring from broken cheep aftermarket PS90 mag, and 2 extensions, all we need is one more extencion, if you have one.
Bet that it will help to ballance the FSN a greate deal(not like it needs it), and reduce that "bone crushing" felt recoil some.

Missing 5.45X18PSM russian. It wos deweloped as a PDW round for MVD oficers, for a clouse range combat, in mid 70's. I's basicly a AK74 bullit loaded in to neked down 9mm MAK shell. 53 grain, 1150fps. Looks alot like SKEETER.

I was shocked my self with the chrono reading, first I've tried 6.8spc pistol loads, and all I can manage was :) 1500 fps with what suppose to be 2000fps load, then we've shot some 5.7 ammo, and the same story, just less variation ie: 40-45gr bullets were 150+fps slower. Panzer and i were testing current lots of ammo lust Thursday, it was 12F cold. The velocity has being dramatically lower then normal 100- 300fps on 5.7x28 ammo out of FSN, and over 400fps on 6.8spc fired out of 8" pistol bbl. I can't say whether it was any less accurate, but i bet it was. Variation ...
