Athena gun club in Houston. Very professional and have 25 yard indoor for rifles and pistols. 5.7 or 5.56 no problem.

Beware, if you pick up your brass bring gloves. They're anal that way.

+1 to Bravo's comment. My AR57 has dented my brass from the beginning. I assume it can be resized and re-used. The veteran reloaders can confirm.

BTW, I wound up getting a S&W 1006 and have taken it to the range. Nice shooter. I've loaded about 150 rounds and will be going to the range to try them out.

BTW I had trouble finding Grantness's page with his tested loads, but did find it, but it didn't have those projectiles. I wrongly assumed that was the final word.

Followed all the good advice and had zero problems. Thanks. Only hitch was the bag came out on the normal carousel but all inside was apparently unmolested.

Took my new build AR57(I built the lower and bought a 57 upper from AR57) to the range and had a great time. Sighted it in at 100 yards and got to a 2" group with sand bags. The mag release spring and poorly seated rounds are a design flaw in my opinion. I've had it happen three times at the range. Thankfully. A poorly seated round can pop the mag release and render the gun inoperative. Not good in a gun fight if you have just had to reload. I know, I know, seat the rou...

FWIW:Burris Fast Fire II and True Hunter Supply mount.

Easy conversion. Less than easy adaptation to the FFII. See above.

I had the magazine release spring pop at the range and was able to get it back in with my Swiss army knife and a few well chosen words of "encouragement". :) Not sure if that's what you did but my experience was that it was problematic but not impossible. Went to the range today and am finally getting the hang of the FsN trigger. Had only about 5% of shots outside of 3" circle at 10'.

I'll work to increase the distance as my ability improves. Good shooter. Installing FFII this weekend. More later.

Anyone know of a magazine loader for the FsN? Uplula doesn't make one and seems not to have plans for one. Doing the hand load works but is slower than using an Uplula. any suggestions?

Add Top Gun range in Houston and Spring Guns and Ammo in Spring.

Both have good lanes, well lit, and are well maintained. Top gun has a strong AC that can blow your targets. YMMV

ONe of my big issues with sighting is my far-sightedness and keeping the sights in focus.

No problem seeing the target, just the sights.

For that reason I'm looking at the FFII and other Red-Dots as a means to get better aim.

All experiences appreciated.

So today I shot 120 rounds and am improving on my accuracy. Thanks to Blue I am focusing more on the trigger and grip. And today I got more in the 3" circle but too many (~10%) outside the circle. Very delicate trigger pull and release. I think it will take at least another 300-400 rounds to get it ...

What mount do you use for the FFII? I wrote Burris to see if they made a mount and the reply I got said no.

I look forward to learning from the members. After 20+ years overseas with no handgun access, I'm now trying to catch up and get proficient. I shoot .45, 9mm, and .25 as well.

It's a great personal challenge to become accurate and effective with a pistol, especially the FsN. I hope to become both.

Any hints on transitioning from heavier guns to the 57? I have found that the 5.7 is more difficult to hold on target. How do you experienced shooters do it? Grip; stance; etc.
