Re: AR57 damaging my brass
Ok, wow, I was way off. I should of went and got my note book before I opened my mouth. I'm still in the testing stage for TB. My loads that was doing this was 6.5 gr. of AA#7 (sorry about any confusion). That gave me an average of 1585 out of the FSN. So maybe I should tame it down a bit when shoot...

Re: AR57 damaging my brass
It is once fired brass. I could try some lighter loads to see if that cures the problem.

AR57 damaging my brass
I finally got out and shot my new AR57. I shot my reloads, the same reloads that I shoot through my hand gun. I don't have my book in front of me, but if I remember right I use 6.5 grains of TB with CCI SRP and a .40 gr. z-max. Out of the hand gun the brass is in fine condition, but it's a different...

Another vote for the Prochrono. I've used one for the last couple years, no complaints from me.

Re: Help reloaders!
With the possibility of damp interior cases, I throw my cases in the oven for 20 minutes or so at 150 degrees. This just insures they are dry. I know I've messed around with a couple various lubes, and one shot seems to give me the least amount of friction, giving me the best shoulder set back. I us...

Re: Fate of loose primer pocket reloads
I don't swage this cartridge. If a primer is tough to seat, I spin the case a little then it usually seats. I'm fairly new with this case so I'm still reloading the second firing. I sure hope I get 10x out of this brass.

Re: Wisdom of GONRA
Talking about lube, with my little experience I've noticed that one shot resizes it back to factory better than the Dillion lube I just picked up. It crazy because the shoulder moves much further back, almost identical to factory, while Dillon lube leaves the shoulder a good 1/16 to 1/8 higher than ...

Re: Dillon XL650 Shellplates
I personally would not load this round on my 650. I do most of my larger rifle cartridge and the 5.7 on my Redding t-7. Any little powder spillage or overcharge can be dangerous. This is just my .02.

Re: Alternative powder
I use wc844 for my .223 loads. It's a bit cheaper. There is an outfit locally here that sells it to me for 12 bucks a pound. I'm sure it's going for that on the internet, or if not a little cheaper.

I'm more old school and use the 10-10 beam scale. I know it takes much longer to weigh a load, but it's accurate.

I've had good luck with aa#7. It matters well and it is fairly clean. It was dirty in my 9mm. I'm guessing the extra pressure burns it better.

Electronic Powder Drop
How many of you use the electronic powder drops? I've never owned one, but was thinking of getting one just for the fiveseven. I would like to hear some pro's and con's with these machines. I know it's a little slow, but I measure all my charges now with a manual scale. I'd think this would have to ...

Re: OAL differences
I am measuring from the tip, so I guess that is where a little bit of my variation is coming from. Maybe I will set it just a couple thousands longer so they don't drop below 1.58. I have EA's case gauge and from that I would think it wouldn't hurt making them just a little longer.

OAL differences
When seating the bullet my OAL varies quite a bit. I'm trying to keep it at 1.580, but it varies anywhere from 1.575 to 1.581. Out of 200 rounds I even got one at 1.573. I don't know if this is normal. It seems like a big difference to me, or am I being to picky? I have a redding T-7 press and lee d...

Hello, I'm a newer 5.7 owner in the pistol version. This is a great forum for everything to do with the fiveseven. Thanks to all the people who post their results from reloads.
