Re: pushed in bullet

Have either of you noticed whether or not those rounds had glue residue in the case neck or if there was none? When compared to my SS195 and SS197 they looked exactly the same clean and smooth in the area where the round was seated into the casing minus the color variances in the copper jackets of ...

Re: pushed in bullet

Thanks for the update.....did you try with SS192 or other ammo and get a consistently different result? Yes in my previous post I pointed out at first I thought it was the mag since I was using an ATI mag but when I used the SS197 or SS195 in it it shot just fine except for trying to double feed wi...

Re: pushed in bullet

I had the same thing happen to about half of mine Beecher some were just jammed back into the casing others were totally destroyed like yours. From what I could tell is that the rounds were on the right track, but then stopped short by slamming into the frame with about half of the neck slamming int...

Re: pushed in bullet

Grimmond: I have had this issue with my AR57 but only with the Federal ammo. Not a single problem with FNH SS197 blue tips or the SS195 hollowpoints. I thought it might have been a problem with the mag I had at the time because it's an ATI mag but like I said it had no problem feeding and shooting t...

Re: Best 9mm Carry Gun Under $400? Ruger LC9 in my book.

Now after reading through this thread Im surprised no one has brought it up but what about the Beretta Nano I just had the pleasure of shooting one yesterday and I instantly fell in love with it and went home to my LGS and had them order one for me now you may or may not be able to find it for under...

Re: sighting in the 57 rifle

Really with the MBUS sights they are about 1-2" low at 50yds so the easiest thing to do is adjust the front post all the way up until it stops and then work your way down until its right on.

Re: My fresh AR57 build!

Yep I still shoot with both all the time its just Im that much faster as a lefty although when given the proper amount of time I can shoot equally well with both left and right. But like I said when it comes to practicing and building that muscle memory Im gonna stick with lefty because for me its b...

Re: My fresh AR57 build!

I know Im def weird but I blame it on my Dad because he is a Lefty and partially passed it onto me and it didnt help my case as a kid I broke my right arm pretty good when I was trying to learn how to write and what not. So I have ended up doing somethings as a lefty and others as a righty and some ...

Re: ar five seven bending shell casings when ejected??

I am too having the same problem but as I informed in another thread per my gunsmith its because the ejection is so fast and kinda violent the casing rotates fully before it drops and hits something inside the magwell or the underside of the bolt. And its not because I have a catch mag since I also ...

Re: My fresh AR57 build!

sweet looking five seven, is there any advantage to having the back sight all the way forward like you have? might do mine like that. thanks I have it that far forward because eventually it will be getting a 4x32 Trijicon ACOG and Ill remove the rear sight while the ACOG is on and if it should ever...

Re: what ammo to use in the AR57??

Yeah bass pro carries them so does gander mountain and also cabelas around me here in Chicagoland and southern Wisconsin. Your not gonna have a problem with the SS197 or 40gr American Eagle TMJ's and you shouldn't either with the SS195 cause from my snooping around in google and YouTube I've seen se...

Re: what ammo to use in the AR57??

Yeah stick with the FNH or FiveSeven center I just didnt think it would be that bad but I had to try it I got the mag for free when I bought an FNH 30rd one at a local shop they just wanted to get rid of it since they were the last 2 P90 mags that they had at the time. I already have 2 fresh FNH one...

Re: what ammo to use in the AR57??

I have run SS197 and the American Eagle TMJ in my AR57 and both really run fine I just had a slight problem with my ATI 50rd mag not feeding right when low on rounds I cant speak to the performance of the SS195 yet as my local shops have only been carrying SS197 when I go to buy.

Re: AR-57 Uppers...

Your best bet is to go with the upper from 57Center I just finished mine and have taken it out shooting twice so far and I couldnt be happier with it, it cycles very well and smooth and almost no recoil compared to a 5.56. Also its very clean shooting which makes for an easy clean up afterwards. One...

My fresh AR57 build!

Well I definitely couldn't be more happy then I am now with my AR57 unless I could have afforded and gotten the ACOG that I want for it as well. I got to take her out today for the first time to shoot after doing final assembly on Tuesday night. This is also my first AR build in general but from my ...

If y'all have a gander mountain near ya check there I just picked up 7 boxes this week from Wisconsin they have it for $24 and some change about $1 cheaper then when they have the federal in stock. Might pick up a few more boxes while they still have it.
