Gran Tourino

Post by FSNTAC » 10 Jan 2009, 20:57

It Looks good and I want to see it. I do get a kick out of the preview where Eastwood pulls his finger gun from his left pocket and pretends to shoot...Hilarious!!

What do ya think?

This might be the old mans last movie.

Reviewers Ratings seems good. I think Clint is forced to play a dirty harry type renegade, because that is what society remembers him as. I think he will definitely deliver.
I give him credit because he is the director as well as an actor.

I've got a definite respect for him. Even taking into consideration all of his other work, the film "Letters From Iwo Jima" was AMAZING. Ill certainly see this one/

Its on my 'must see' list. I don't think I'll be disappointed. I heard one review on Sirius radio and the gal said that he (the character) is definitely NOT PC and he insults EVERYBODY except Muslims... :ponder: Should be good.

I'll be seeing it.

There's a "movie critic" for the Mpls Strib that is a complete nancy-boy and if he rips a film, chances are I'll like it. (and vice-versa)
He blew a gasket writing his review of Gran Torino.
No rainbows, penguins or daisies in this one.
I'll probably play hookie one day soon....take a long lunch and catch the matinee.

i saw it last night and the whole movie was great, it was one of those movies that could be funny and serious at the same time
The way he talks was also great, classic Clint Eastwood "GET THE FU*K OFF MY LAWN!!"
I thought the ending though was sad also MO but that part at the end with the car was great :)

I would definatly recomend this movie, its probly the best movie ive seen in a while actually :thumb:

Gave it a 98 out of 100. I'm hoping DVD release might have an alternate ending or an extended version.

Oscar Travesty: Gran Torino Shut Out

The Oscar nominations have been announced and Clint Eastwood’s new film, “Gran Torino,” has been shut out.

I’m not surprised… “Gran Torino” is a direct threat to the liberal view of everything from race relations to inner city gangs and the Second Amendment

Gangster: "go in side the house old man"
Clint: " I shoot you in the face, then go inside, then sleep like baby"

Freaking awesome. The acting on some parts weren't polished, but considered the amount of newbie actors, I can't blame anyone.

A+++++++++ :cool:

I dont think ive seen a movie with more racial slurs in a long time
I liked the movie. MO is right, could have developed the characters more....like the hmung kid, clints children/grandchildren, etc...
I thought that hmung kid was kinda a bad actor when he tried to show emotion (especially that scene when he's locked in clints basement and screaming/banging on the door).
Clint w/ his 1911 and M1 Garand were classic, gotta love it.
Overall, Id give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Come on, the scenes with Toad in the Barber Shop and trying to get the construction job were gut-splitting funny. It was a great movie.
