Re: New FsN, misfire problems.

Since it never came up in the gun safety course I took and the range officer at my range has told me to do this before, what is wrong with recycling ammo? I've done it a couple of times with multiple weapons. I know this is a noob question, so please excuse my ignorance.

Re: 6 speeders blow past trooper in exotic cars

I have little sympathy for racing on public streets. It might be because I once worked with a sys admin who got a call one night because his wife and two daughters were put into intensive care by a street racer... oh, and the kid you lost control and hit their car walked away from the accident.

Re: 3o mag for the 57

I just got two of them, and find that the follower hangs up pretty bad. Deburred, it just seems like they don't line up just right for the follower to smoothly transition from the extension into the magazine. With both my mags, I had an issue on initial assembly. But after some finessing, jostling,...

Re: 30rd Mags Causing Slide to Rack

Just checked mine and it did not auto-cycle as you described. Gun basically is brand new with 500 - 750 rnds through it and with virgin 30 rnd mags fully loaded . . . no problems. Wonder how many rounds or cycles through your gun? My USG probably has just north of 500 rounds through it. And the mag...

30rd Mags Causing Slide to Rack

I bought two extra 20 round magazines and extended them both to 30 round capacity using the CMMG extension kit. Today was the first day I was able to take them to the range. With the slide locked back, when I inserted the magazines the slide would immediately rack forward and chamber a round. This h...

I only have the 3 it came with but would like a couple more, if I could find them, and at a reasonable price (if there is such a thing any more!). I hear ya. I'm in the same boat. I missed the Botach sale awhile back. Just to have more, I order 2 from them at the outrageous price and threw in two o...

Regarding the Examiner story: I had such high hopes for Michael Steele. I even contributed to his campaign when he was running for Congress. But with this latest dust up with Limbaugh and his comments about assault weapons, he's turning into another witless Republican leader. I sure hope he turns hi...

Re: be wary of your surroundings at the gun range...

Interesting. I wonder if the guy had experience with handguns. At the range where I shoot, they'll deny you access if they suspect you don't know how to handle firearms. I once saw a young lady walk in there and ask to rent the "Tupac" gun, and they told her to get out. She then started singing some...

Re: Key Lube Points

Thanks for posting that video. When I bought my FsN at the store, I asked the salesman how the gun should be cleaned and lubed. He took the slide off and said "just spray it down", holding his hand about 2 inches above as if he was spraying WD40 back and forth. :ponder: Out of curiosity, what cleani...

What someone with cornrolls, baggy pants, and gold teefs needs with this stuff is uncomprehensible. Well, unless you factor they are just eliminating competition. then I say go for it. Unfortunately, innocent bystanders get caught up with it. So were the people with baggy pants and gold teefs buyin...

FYI, a friend of mine and I went to a gun show on Friday, and she picked up a new FiveseveN. The only difference between her new FsN and my new FsN a month ago was it looked like the dealer she bought hers from had taken the slide off and liberally sprayed lubricant all over it (looks like they did ...

That's the employer match part, not the 401k itself. I worked for a Fortune 500 with a 401k for 8 years that had no match. And they were quite profitable.

Re: Someone hit my car

My car was parked in front of an apt I rented, near an intersection of 2 bust streets. One night a couple of guys were racing and one lost it in the turn and T-boned my car. I looked out the window just in time to see the tail lights, but couldn't get the tag number. Ended up the car was totalled a...

i only recovered about 50 brass cases because the rest bounced off the wall into the firing bays. I have the same problem. Most of my brass bounces off the wall and then goes forward of the red line. Re: Another New FN FiveseveN First Range Report

I wish that the local indoor range would let me shoot my FiveSevin there, they say that it will destroy the backstop. Is the range strictly for handguns? I've only shot my FsN at an indoor range, though I will have to admit I always end up on the rifle side for some reason. But that just seems like...

I just got back from having a couple of beers with a friend of mine who has served on Capitol Hill for the last 15 years. I mentioned this bill to him, he knew exactly what I was talking about, and said he didn't believe it would make it to the floor of the House.

Gun case for the range bag

I bought an Armloc II pistol case for my FiveseveN to keep it secure from the kids, but it really does add considerable weight to my range bag. The handle on it is a bit deceiving perhaps. So I'm looking for another case, hard or soft, for the pistol for transportation to and from the range. Before ...

There will always be those rednecks who maintain there never were concentration camps When did 'rednecks' become a derogatory term? I would have shared if he had asked. During lunch afterwards, one of my friends mused that perhaps the police man was curious about "one of those cop killer guns". Alright, finally got my new FsN out to the range today. Here's the executive summary: I'm very pleased. Out of 200 rounds, 2 FTFs, and an FTE. Everything else was flawless. Last night I used swabs and the supplied swab holder to clean the factory lubrication out of the bore. Then I put the gun back ...

And if you work inside the beltway, as a federal employee you have the day off. If you work for anyone else inside DC or the beltway in NOVA or Southern Maryland, you have been pretty much forced to take the day off. The amount of road closures and bridge closures for the 20th are unheard of! They ...

I haven't seen Generation Kill, but I did read the book a few years ago. It was a good book, but I can see how the movie adaptation would distort things. My understanding is that there were a few Marines portrayed in the movie who were pretty upset with the way it came out.

FN Patent on 5.7

I was at a friend's birthday party and struck up a conversation with a guy whom I've always considered fairly knowledgeable about firearms. I mentioned I just acquired an FsN, and then he rolled his eyes. His big beef against it is the 5.7 round, which he claims is patented by FN. I realize there ar...
