Re: Why are the ProtecTOR rounds so expensive?

The main issue with loading this round is there is no such thing as virgin brass. You want brass, you have to buy once fired or buy loaded ammo. That's a hefty cost for a company loading up specialty ammo in the caliber. Hopefully one day starline or some other brass company will start producing br...

Re: Why are the ProtecTOR rounds so expensive?

Yeah... At first glance I'd probably complain about the price. If I wanted to whine about it I might point out that I can get Hornady Critical Defense ammo for my 9mm at something like 70 cents a round. But that leaves out the fact that everybody and his brother makes 9mm self defense ammo, not to m...

If you decide to go with Burris, check out their XTR line. Simple, easy to use reticles on pretty decent glass. A friend of mine runs a small gun store in middle tenness with a range out back. Definitely brings in the bulk of his revenue through the range and ammo sales.

Of course, he takes folks out back to shoot the guns they're interested in, which does help some on the gun sales.

Re: A Reliable 27gr Reload

Just spoke with an agent at the BATF Technology Branch in West Virginia who clarified unambiguously that they do indeed consider anything larger than .220" (and meeting the other criteria) as armor piercing. Don't some of the bigger manufacturers make .224 bullets that meet the AP definition above?...

its not like old school 5.56 with the black adhesive. they are glued in place. easiest way to pull themis to use a seater die to push the bullet a bid deeper in the case breaking the adhesive, thenuse a collet puller to retrieve the vmax.

Alas, the FMJ version has been scrapped as our legal team concluded that it meets one of the technical definitions of AP under 18 USC Section 921: (ii) a full jacketed projectile larger than .22 caliber designed and intended for use in a handgun and whose jacket has a weight of more than 25 percent...

I have no doubt that Obama gamed the system as a college student (as many do). If he could take advantage of affirmative action, programs that might benefit him after living in Indonesia, etc, I'm sure he did. If it meant going by Barry Soetoro (which he did) I wouldn't be surprised. I think the rea...

So I picked up my FsN two days ago and put 150 rnds through it today. I really like the gun, Im happy with my purchase as I expected I would be. My question though is after reading through some of the manual I noticed that the FsN is sighted in for the SS195. Im shooting the 197's through my gun so...

Plenty of people I know shoot thousands of rounds through their FsN's w/o cleaning. I have a spa defense light on mine. Yes, tacti-geeked with electrical tape because my only complaint is the gold color. I like it because it is compact, bright, easy to switch on and set to strobe, and works good in the hand as well. Its also a fairly tough little light. Hardest part was figuring ou...

Very nice. You really see just how accurate it is when you bench it, too.

When I first got the pistol I took it out back (the store had a range) and put a magazine through it and was all over the place. It was all me, and it took some time to figure out how sloppy I was being with it.
