Dummy Silencer
Dummy Silencer
Just got my dummy silencer...it fit really easy and secure... I noticed that if you do not fit it all the way to the end of the barrel, it actually hides the muzzle flash and DOES provide a moderate level of shot noise reduction. Guess it isn't "legal" unless you fit it all the way onto the barrel... just an observation! It cost me $120, postpaid, and has a made in Belgium jargon printed on it. Looks really 'cool'!

Re: Dummy Silencer
$120 for a fake can? For another $80, you could get a tax stamp and make one at home. Wouldn't be the greatest, but it would actually do something.

:agree: To each his own. One of my neighbor's wife has fake . . . . . . . :lmao:
Re: Dummy Silencer
That's different, they do something positive for the community, and no tax stamp needed

Re: Dummy Silencer
Tax stamp is cheaper. And quieter.

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.

So it's only for looks, and none of us get a look? :ponder:
Re: Dummy Silencer
It actually DOES reduce the noise and covers the flash if you just leave a few inches extended over the front of the barrel. I agree that photos are the best describer... I don't know how to put a photo on the forum... Just do a GOOGLE search for PS90 dummy silencer and I am sure you will find them... the one I have has what seems to be "official" Belgium markings on it...but, it is made in the USA. AND NO PAPERWORK!! Just keep the allen-key handy in case an 'official' wants to inspect it. Also, might be a good idea to keep the flyer that comes with it to prove it is a dummy silencer (smile).... and it really looks neat! Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder... and I am sure there will lots of comments offering better solutions or asking why you would want one...
Re: Dummy Silencer
Since I made my first post my Axiom got released from NFA jail, and I stuck it on my FsN as soon as I could. Paid $299 for it, was in jail for 3.5 months, and it makes my FsN quieter than my 9mm when shooting supersonic. Can't touch 9mm subs through the Tirant, but I was seriously stunned at how quiet it got 197s and a 195 that I fired.

Try Elite's QuieTor (is it still called that??). I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Don't have EA money, but I'm working up a subsonic on the bench, I expect it to be 22LR quiet.

That's what I said to my neighbor's wife. :lmao:Freebie wrote:So it's only for looks, and none of us get a look? :ponder:
