3rd production of 20 round drums available from manufacturer

Post by 5Jeffro7 » 15 Feb 2009, 16:44

http://www.mdarms.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; now has their third batch of 20-round drums for the saiga 12 listed for availability on their web site..perhaps $260 is a bit high, but I have a feeling that if you were to wait, you might be able to get 'em on GB for 400-500 :wall:

Oh man... I saw "200 round drums" as the subject and I got all excited, even though I really didn't know what was going on.

Bastard.

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.

My sincere apologies...perhaps I should proofread things before hitting the submit button

Heheh no worries

Out of curiosity, how much did your Saiga run you? I've seen them on the shelf recently for around a grand, but I know that they were considerably less than that.

well, I don't have one....was going to pick one up, but with the scar & my AR build running right around 3 grand..can't justify one..plus all the extraneous stuff to go with it....I did see one on GB today for either 549 or 579, I forget which..seems he has a couple left before he'll be raising the prices...they're the ones with fixed sights, but compared to 640-1500, its a good deal (not good enough for my wallet, but...)

I just ordered my 2nd one with a smoke cover and a new smoke cover for my first run drum and Mike is gonna ship me the 4 pos gas plug FREE. Cause Im a 1st run customer I also picked up a Tri-Rail forend and mounted a vert grip along with my Krebs gost ring sights. Now if only Tony R. would get those Shark Breaks out I will finish this beast.

Have you used them?
Do they function as well as factory mags or are they like some of the other drums (like the AR15 platform) that need to be twiked

They are not a throw it into any saiga drum. They need to be fitted to the firearm and then might not fit correctly into a different one. I had to do alot of fitting on both A and B points as defined in the instruction manual. My brothers Saiga fit both his drums without any fitting at all and dont fit mine while mine are very loose in his. Saigas also need some tweaking to run due to alot of variation in Shotgun shells as far as pressure, charge weight, payload, and shell dimension's. Having written all that mine now run 100% on the right gas setting and are more fun than can be expressed in written words.

got my s-12 for $565. Took it home, tor it apart, and now am waiting for the $ and parts to roll in. Finding this here combines 2 of my latest passions: FsN and S-12! Drums are too pricey for me right now, but I'm keeping my eye on them. How long does it take to unload one?

Centerfire has a decent price on them, but by the time you do shipping and transfer your at $600 or so.
