Does anyone know if SS197SR is truly being discontinued?
PSA has been out forever. I found a couple blog postings about it being discontinued?!?!
Is a new round coming or just no more 197...

I have heard it said that the Federal 40 gr. ammo is equivalent to SS197 and that FNH has no intent to import SS197 to compete with Federal. I don't know how good or bad that info is, so please don't "shoot the messenger" so to speak.
Anybody more plugged in with FNH than I am, want to weigh in here???

2 different types of ammo.
The 197 is made by Fiocchi under contract for FN Herstal. It is loaded with a Hornady V-Max projectile instead of a FMJ.

I was scanning SG ammo sales earlier and noticed they had a sale going on this.
I don’t FN is going anywhere but it makes you wonder if Federal knows that there is new firearms in this caliber coming or some other insider insight.
*Note. I am not recommending a .40 grain FMJ for defensive carry. This websites product connects to a much better product or FN loading. But here is the link if anyone hasn’t seen it.
