T6B brass

Post by DistantCorduroy » 17 Feb 2015, 15:45

Just got my T6B and am pretty pumped to send it down range. I noticed that the casing seems rough compared to the usual slick 5.7 case. What changed on the T6B?

Casing?

If you mean the case, it's the lacquer coating. The coating varies form batch to batch.

Yes, the case was what I was referring to. Thanks for the response. Btw, know of anyone planning performance vids on this new T6 version?

The T6B is still structurally the same as the old T6, is it not?

Nope I tweaked it again.

It will break up easier after barrier penetration. It's more like a T6/S5 32gr./Old LEO Trident 30gr. combo.

Penetration of hard armor and soft is unchanged. I wanted to make sure though they broke up as readily as the older versions.

Good stuff! Buffman, I was hoping you'd bite on the notion of a vid on this new iteration. What do you say; think you'll put a little something together?

Jay, it sounds the T6B improvements would make a good Coffee Chat subject.,

Yeah but they are minimal.

The biggest change is that the copper rods are annealed differently now and are 90 instead of 80 on the Rockwell hardness B scale.

I have focused the chats on all the PS90 Ringsight and rail stuff. I will do one concerning the T6B and some other goodies including the new brass.

YES! The new brass...now that's what I want to hear about.
Mainly because I've been following this story since you first started reaching out to find it...

Going to cover the new, shorter EFK barrels in the next chat? Gonna share your lacquer with us so we can recondition terrible brass from Salida, Colorado?

I will talk about the barrels, and sorry my coating is proprietary.

Will you offer a coating service so we can get weathered or Salida'd brass back into service?

Possibly I have already been approached.

It would have to be large amount and you would need to size, de prime and remove the old coating before sending to me. Otherwise like I told the customer who contacted me my guy in charge of that stuff makes 15 an hour. Re sizing and stripping could get expensive fast if we do it.
