I've been single staging so far with the 5.7, but I'm thinking about picking up a 5.7x28 shellplate for my LeePro 1000. Anybody else interested in one (or are you guys all Dillon diehards?).
It's $100 setup plus $20 per plate. Works out to about $40 for 5 plates, $30 for 10 plates ect.
Any interest in Shell Plates for Lee Pro 1000?

I would still weigh/measure the powder the same, it would just speed up the case loading as well as the primer and bullet seating.
Just curious, are you referring to the Auto-Disk, the Perfect-Powder measure, or both? (as being inaccurate)
I've had good luck (so far) and been fairly pleased loading other calibers (9mm, .40, .357, .223, 30-30) with them and they consistantly throw farily accurately for me with a range of plus .005 to minus .01 grains.
Most of the KB's I've seen were a result of doubleloading as a result of poor reloading attention to detail....you can only idiot-proof stuff to a point.

In my experience, the Perfect Powder Measure can be off as much as .2 grains. Although, Ive found mine to be fairly consistent MOST of the time. However, I dont throw my charges. I throw them onto the scale and weigh them to avoid these dangerous mistakes. I guess that would defeat the benefits of using a progressive, eh?
Re: Any interest in Shell Plates for Lee Pro 1000?
M.O.
What powder throwing device (if any) would you recommend as ideal (regardless if it is single-stage or progressive)? - other than weighing each charge.
Grant, yours is off by .2gr? is that a .2gr spread, or varying by .2 each way?

Re: Any interest in Shell Plates for Lee Pro 1000?
Does anyone have a Lee Pro 1000 5.7 plate that I could reverse engineer? I have a good friend with a mill and he would probably give me a great price if we did a run of, say, 10 of them. Definitely cheaper than Lee's price.

I had one made by a machine shop student....it's not great, but it was cheap. I'll see if I can find the drawing it did for it if you think you can actually get some made. I'd also be interested in one cause I had to do some modifications to mine in order to get it to match my drawing.

LOL Yeah the drawings would be helpful. I could work off that and find the common axis and other standard dimensions elsewhere. But if someone has the one produced by LEE (that I could borrow for a week and return with a few hundred pieces of brass for your trouble), that would be awesome too.

Ok, I found the prints and the solid model.
It was made in CATIA, but I saved it in half a dozen other formats at the time just in case I wanted to use it again later.
Do you want me to email the files to you?
Here's a quick shot of the print, it has lots of redundant dimensions and no tolerances, but I didn't want the dude to eff it up too badly.....apparently I failed at that anyway:
P.S. I hate google and photobucket right now. Google Photos sucks ass compared to PicasaWeb (which only kind of sucked), and now Photobucket is on the fritz, so I have to use imgur just to post a simple pic.

Created the file in Inventor to brush off the design skills. Gave it to a buddy at work who will print in in delrin for press testing.
