Damnit, I was trying to save money! Now look what you did :x

Just wish it had a threaded barrel, slap a compensator on it. Not sure if I'd need it but nice to have the option.

Interesting. As a 10mm freak the more the merrier, BUT just how much can the XD handle? Can it handle full power 10mm? Is this XD just bored to 10mm or designed adapted and tested for 10mm?

They probably took the .45 model and swapped it to 10mm.

Springfield is claiming a 10,0000 test fire and everything was normal.
I would be interested in the load type for the test. Big difference in Underwood type loaded to original specs and underloaded round running at .40 specs.

If they hold up good in the wild ,I will put one on my Christmas list. 15+1 looks good.

According to their website, the test was conducted using Federal Premium® Hydra-Shok® and changed the recoil spring every 2,000 rounds. I thought springs were supposed to last longer

Reading the comments on the video, a lot of people were disappointed in their choice of ammo and saying it was anemic.

The Hydrashok is pretty weaksauce. They should have used Underwood; it is basic knowledge/common practice to exceed/overtest your equipment (EAA Witness/Stock3), not undertest it.

Even (ew) Sig 10mm would have been better as it isn't underloaded. 2000 rounds is pretty fair. 5000 for 9mm.

Then again, I'd just use a 22lb spring like I do in 10mm handguns and it'd probably last longer; I doubt they are using a 22lb spring, but who knows. My 10mm Glocks are extremely accurate with factory barrels (I never would have guessed). I wonder how the XD stacks up; I've never really been a fan of the XD. I've shot tricked out XDm's. Then again, I've never been a fan of Glocks, and I own quite a few of them. Handguns are finally becoming better. The 1911 has always been great but not that affordable.

Maybe I missed it in the videos, but did they cover holster compatibility ?

I'm wondering if the other XD model holsters are close to fitting this? The .45acp would be close. Interesting....

Nobody has mentioned anything about holsters yet. I've heard from several gun stores that they are the same frame as the .45 ACP XDm but no one I have talked to has admitted to actually testing out the gun or holsters.

I'm trying to get my bro to buy one so I can shoot it :D

I've shot XDms... their prococked striker = you can buy the gun 500 + insane/dont breathe trigger 200 and be $700-800 out the door with a badass supposedly match-accurate 10mm.

Sootch00 does some excellent reviews on YouTube and he has a good review on the Springfield 10mm on his channel. I think this will sell well for hunters and guides.

One interesting note, he has had almost 50,000 views of his video review of the Springfield 10mm in the short time he posted the review on YouTube. I think this shows some of the level of revived interest in the 10mm in a new package. We could see a whole new market available as more manufacturer's start making ammo and holsters around the platform. Col. Cooper would approve.

Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore has them for $549.99 shipped. The 3 extra mags and range bag deal is also still on.

I went & looked around for these, no one had them in stock & a couple of places didn't even know they were being made. Sportsman's was one off the didn't know places :?

I usually end up hitting the online notify me button with the email notification with Sportsman Outdoor. I think they go through inventory pretty quick. I ended up ordering ammo several times and had to do the notify me email option. Always had good luck with them.

Tombstone Tactical had 3 of the 5 inch models in stock this morning. A little more though.

They are back in stock at Sportsman Outdoor Superstore. The 4.5 inch is $549 with the "gear up promo" that adds 3 additional mags plus a range bag. Making a total of 5 mags for $549 shipped......

Tempting...………

I thought the special was for both of them?

Found a place that had the 4.5" in stock, so I bought it :D
Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, hell I haven't even cleaned it.

I did check into holsters, there are none specifically labeled for this gun but it uses the same frame as the XD(M) .45ACP so I tried that. Those are surprisingly hard to find too but every one I tried fit the 10mm.

(BTW, the special does apply to both models)

Thank you for the pictures Rapier.
I am looking forward to picking one of these up in a few months.

Exciting times for the 10mm world. I think this may be the pistol to bring the 10mm in the mainstream. I think we will soon see more manufacturers making original load 10mm ammo and a line of holsters to fit.

Went out & shot it today, for which I am thankful (it's Thanksgiving after all :) ).

My accuracy with the XD(m) is about the same as with my 1911, such as it is - badguys beware
Couple of comments:
The trigger reset is longer than I expected and am used to. I didn't check that when I was ogling it at the store; it's not a deal breaker by any means just something to mention.
It came with a red fiberoptic in the front site but in the box were two replacements - one green & one red. I switched it to green, the instructions in the manual are pretty simple.
Take down for cleaning is about as easy as the FsN.
